That reminds me- one incarnation of Zink was supposed to be a secret spy thriller. To that end, I tried to read Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. At that point, I concluded that I was not yet qualifed to write spy thrillers. The only thing that remains from that is Ananda's code name: "Mary," as in "mare" as in "female horse." The other three had code names too (and just as contrived), but I don't remember them.
